I bought Just Cause 3, but did not get the free copy of Just Cause 2.

So, I read on Microsoft website (Xbox: Xbox One and Xbox One S Consoles, Games & Accessories |-Microsoft Store)
that If I buy Just Cause 3, I would get "tokens" to get Just Cause 2 for free. So, I bought Just Cause 3 on the 5th of July, 2016, but did not get the tokens or the code to get Just Cause 2 for free.

I went back to the website, and realized that I had to get the Day One Edition of Just Cause 3. I paid $50 to get the game and the Day One Edition was also for $50, so why can't I get the code for Just Cause 2? So, I'm asking whether I can get the code (for
Just Cause 2) since I paid the same price for Just Cause 3 as the Day One Edition of the game.

First of, my apologies if i'm posting this in the wrong sub-forum.

I have bought Just Cause 3 digitally, just the normal version, and from what i understand, i should have received a code to get Just Cause 2, however, i did not receive anything. Do i have to buy the season pass to be eligible to get Just Cause 2 ?.

With regards to the Just Cause 2 game. If you bought the game Just Cause 3, you're already eligible to receive the other game through a game code that will be sent to your dashboard message center. You should receive it within 7 to 10 days after you purchased
the game.

Did you purchase the physical copy through that page? That question is better suited for

Microsoft Store Support who'll have more visibility on whether or not you should have received the Day One edition, as those Just Cause 2 codes are located inside the case and are not distributed through Xbox Live message.

No, I bought a digital copy of the game. It is not clear on the website that I have to get the physical copy of the game.

That specific website linked is in regards to the physical disk version of Just Cause 3, which if they have Day One Editions available, the code would be located inside. The offer for Just Cause 2 on Xbox One for digital customers has ended a few months
ago.

We are unable to provide a token in this case as it sounds like you've recently purchased the game digitally, and this promotion is no longer offered on the digital Xbox Store.

None of the information you just told me was written on the website when I bought the game. Yes, I purchased a digital copy of the game but the website did not state that I had to buy the physical copy. I paid $50 for the game expecting to get Just Cause
2 as well.

 

The website you linked earlier is for the disc version of the game through Microsoftstore.com. Could you provide a link to the digital store that advertises this offer? That will help us a bunch.

 

Well obviously I can no longer find that website. My argument is that since I paid the full amount for the game, which was the same amount as the Day One Edition, at least I deserve to get Just Cause 2.

 

As mentioned earlier, this was exclusive to pre-order customers digitally, The reason the Microsoft Store still calls that out is most likely due to still having stock of the Day One Edition, but they will be the better party to reach out to to confirm.
