anything purchased for fortnite is linked to the epic account, if you close your account you lose everything, you may have purchased through microsoft but that is all you did, they are technically a shop in this case.

Are you talking about a Fortnite bundle code for the game itself and content, as in save the world? As Battle royale is free to install, there is a founder pack and a deluxe founder pack that comes with save the world and other items for save the world.

What exactly did you purchase. There is no $20 fortnite item that includes save the world. If you purchased the starter pack that is all for Battle Royale.

You will need to purchase one of the Founders editions to have access to save the world

If you are indeed referring to the Standard Founder's pack, the Save the World and Battle Royal mode should have began to install after you make the purchase. If they did not, you can start the downloads from the Microsoft Store.
