Banned Xbox one

i bought my xbox one second hand about 3 weeks ago for my 11 year old son , it was working perfectly until today when he came across a message saying hes been console banned!! obviously they wrongfully banned it as im sure an 11 year old boy could do absolutely
nothing wrong. wondering where i can go to speak to someone to try get it unbanned , any help is appreciated

Disconnected from XBox Live Profile signed in elsewhere

I did, but that was about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago on a friend's Xbox and about a year ago on my Dad's Xbox.

I changed my password to my Microsoft/Hotmail/MSN, added a setting so other Xbox's need to enter my email and password before signing into my profile and added a 4- button combo password to sign in.

Will this help me?

As per the terms of use accounts cannot be transfered between users

Basically you bought the console itself not the account.

The accounts are not transferable between people.

What it sounds like happened is the person you bought it from changed the password on the account.

Account's aren't tied to consoles. If you are using your account and not one that was already on the console you purchased, as ngocphi noted, there is nothing else you need to do.

It's your account and do not share any of the information for it.

If you're using an account that was on the console you purchased I recommend creating your own account. The account owner can do a password reset on the account.

I’ll reply in order of questions asked.

1. Yes I have asked my friend if he had switched his subscription and he did not.

2. Yes, all of my subscriptions ended over 2 years ago so I don’t think that would be an issue.

3. No, it says I need to renew my subscription even though I hadn’t bought a subscription in the first place, I am game sharing with my friend that has Ultimate.
