I bought a Xbox 360 used and can't change parental controls

I recently bought a used Xbox 360 and when I was exploring it, went into the "Family" tab, it asked me for a code, I didn't know it, it asked me a secret question, I don't know it, now some content is locked and I can't change it! Please someone help me!

Are you using your personal account?

You can reset the XBOX 360 console and log in with your Family Organizer account, that should fix the issue.

Please, follow these steps:

Press the Guide button to open the guide.

Select Settings > System Settings > Console Settings > System Info.

Write down your console serial number (you’ll need to enter it later) and then press the B button.

Select Storage> Select Hard Drive > press the Y button to access Device Options.

On the Device Options screen, select Format.

On the Format Device screen, you’ll see the following message.

Select Yes.

On the Format Hard Drive screen, select Enter Serial Number and then enter the number on the next screen.

Press the Start button.

You’ll see a Formatting in progress message with a progress bar.

After the process is complete, you’ll be returned to the Home screen

Hi there,

you can't really remove the parental account untill his account has reached the legal age limit. This based on the birthdate on his account, which can not be changed.

But you can change the parental settings which should allow him to add friends and play games etc without the need of the approval from the parental account.

Do you by chance still have a parental lock on the Xbox 360? What is It that you are trying to do that you can't?
