I bought a game on the Microsoft store and i have to buy it again

Please check your account order history on https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/ if your game order is there and says completed.

Please also visit your profile on https://account.xbox.com/Profile to check if it’s your correct gamertag to make sure we’re checking the right account.

This is an issue that's been going on for years, that affects a small number of people.

Obviously, make sure you are logged in with the account that purchased the game, as sometimes people make a mistake and log in with the wrong account, but assuming that's not the issue, all you can do is hope that you have a proof of purchase for the game, then you can contact support and they will sort you out. When you purchase any digital game on Xbox, you're sent an email receipt, plus it should also show up in your purchase history (although sometimes games do disappear from there too).

But yeah, if you have a proof of purchase, contact Xbox Support and explain the situation. From what I've seen others say, they will typically add credit to your account and then buy the game again, so you regain access.

Unfortunately nobody here has access to the required systems to sort this out for you, so you do need to contact support.

I highly recommend following the troubleshooting steps here:

After each step try to see if the issue is fixed!

First, please select System > Settings > account > remove accounts and then select your account and select Remove to confirm.

Then, hold down the power button for about 10 seconds, until the console shuts off, then unplug the power cord and wait for 2-3 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the Xbox.

If the issue persists, please select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

If you are still encountering the same issue, please select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps
