I bought a game and then bought Game Pass but if the game pass gets expired I can't play...

so I bought RDR 2 Special edition using mi ultimate pass, however, it expired a couple of days ago

When "purchasing" games through the use of the ultimate game pass or even game with gold. You must have an active Xbox live gold or ultimate game pass subscription to be able to still play the games.

When you say "bought". Did you get it for free or was it at a discounted rate?

Yes, if you buy it on the discount with game pass, you do keep the full game since you bought it - even after the game pass subscription expires.

I assume you bought a 1 month game pass and xbox live so it might have expired.

- Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game from your Xbox?

- Do you have any other games that you bought and then downloaded through Game Pass? If so, are you able to play them offline or without a subscription?

Here are some troubleshooting steps we can perform to try and fix the issue:



- Make sure that you have installed the game from the disc or the digital store, not from Game Pass. You can check this by going to My games & apps > Full library > All owned games. If the game has a Game Pass icon next to it, you will need to uninstall it and reinstall it from the disc or the digital store.

- Make sure that you have an active internet connection when you launch the game for the first time, so that it can activate your license. After that, you should be able to play the game offline, unless it requires online features such as multiplayer or updates.
