We understand that you are unable to give your child consent to access Xbox. This might be due to incorrect or missing personal information on your or your child's Microsoft account, or a problem with the consent process on your device. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:



- Verify that your and your child's date of birth and country or region are correct on your Microsoft account settings. You can do this by signing in to https://account.microsoft.com/ and selecting Your info. If you need to change any details, select Edit profile info and then Save.



- Make sure that you have added your child as a member of your Xbox family group. You can do this by signing in to https://family.microsoft.com/ and selecting Add a family member. Follow the instructions to send an invitation to your child's email address and have them accept it.



- Give parental consent for your child's account on your Xbox console or on the web. You can do this by having your child sign in to their account on the console or on the web and follow the prompts to request consent. You will need to sign in as the organizer with your email address and password, or the console's PIN, and accept the Microsoft Services Agreement and Privacy Statement. You will also need to choose whether your child can sign into non-Microsoft apps.



- If you want to grant an exception to your child's content limits for a specific game or app, you can do this by signing in to your account on the console and having your child sign in to their account. Locate the content you want to allow and select it. On the Choose who will give permission screen, select your account and enter your credentials or PIN.

If the date of birth on your Microsoft account shows that you're under a certain age, Xbox is required to request parental consent for you to use Xbox Live.

If you're an adult, but you got a message asking for parental consent, it's because you're a child in your Microsoft family.

Solution

If you're of an age that requires parental consent, follow the steps on your Xbox to have your parent sign in and add you to their Microsoft family.

If you're over the age requiring parental consent, have your parent remove you from the family. They'll have to sign in to
account.microsoft.com/family, select your profile, and select
Remove.
