I'm sorry you are experiencing this with adding your payment card. No worries, let me help you sort this out.

Based on the error message, your payment card information and your Microsoft account billing information are not matched. It needs to be matched in order to successfully add your payment card.

A few of the things you can check while entering the details:

> Enter your name precisely as it appears on the card. Only include your middle initial if it appears on your card.
> If this is a company card, enter the company name as both a first name and last name. For example, if the company name is "Contoso Shoes" split the company name into the first and last name fields.
> If the company only has one name, for example, "Contoso," enter the company name in both the first and last name fields.
> If you are asked to enter the address and it exceeds the Address 1 field, use the Address 2 field. Do not shorten or abbreviate your address.
> The card number and type cannot be edited, so if you make a mistake, you'll need to add a new one with the correct information. Other credit card information can be edited, such as billing address and expiration date.

Kindly sign in to account.microsoft.com > go to Payment and Billing > Address book to update your Billing information.

Also, check if your Xbox Live region matches with your billing address by signing your account on account.xbox.com > click on your gamer picture > click the 3 dots symbol > Xbox settings > then Xbox 360 region.

Note: Do NOT change the region yet as this will cause your account to undergo an account migration. You won't be able to change your region for 90 days.

I've had this problem for 3 weeks now. The Microsoft folks cannot figure it out. I am unable to add a credit card (tried 3 different ones) from my computer or from my xbox. When I call support, they are able to add a card but then the purchases are not
authorized. Thinking the problem might be with my account, we created a new account----same problem. Even paypal doesn't work.

I am only 14yrs old btw ,

my mum owns the cards , we have now managed to add a new payment option by adding a new card but still account is no different .
