What Malacath and Richiestang78 are telling you is correct. You cannot use a partitioned drive on the Xbox One for game/app installation. It can only have one partition and will become dedicated to game and app storage - you won't be able to use it for media
or as extra storage for your PC. You will have to use a separate drive for media.

Now I am not sure as to why the Xbox One isn't allowing you to format it again. You should be able to format it into NTSC (and leave it blank) then be able to format it when attached to your Xbox One. You might try a hard reset on the One to clear out the
memory cache to see if that helps, that is the only thing I can think of that might cause an issue with it formatting to a games drive on the One. Mine was a little flaky the other day when I was trying to transfer some files between hard drives (wouldn't
move them) and it didn't work until I did a hard reset on the system

I'm having similar issue with my hard drive turned on xbox today and everything is gone gamertag games apps etc. And it keeps saying that my hard drive needs to be formated but when I click format it loafor about a min and once my formating says complete
I go in too storage and nothing has changed. Once again it reads unformated by my hard device. Am I just doing something wrong here? And is the harddrive its self covered by warrenty?

Is it possible that the game(s) you're trying to install are already (partially) installed on your console's internal drive, and the internal drive is full?

I addressed all your questions in my post. I cannot transfer games to my external drive, only apps. As soon as I try and move them, they stop installation. I have completely removed games from my internal drive, they still will not download to the external
drive.

I was able to download the update via USB seems to have worked but hard drive still says unformatted, chose to format hard drive, now it is recognized, everything was cleared from hard drive. When I try to download profile it starts downloading then says
"sorry,Xbox LIVE profiles can't be downloaded right now. Try again later. 8007045D."

So angry. New games, time off, and an Xbox that won't work.
