I am trying to make my ps4 controller work again but it just doesnt want to setup.

I have tried absolutely everything I can think of maybe you have something that I can do. I have tried resetting pc multiple times, tried steam, installed multiple softwares like ds4windows or vjoy etc, all of them showed me that the controller is not detected, althought when i connect the controller and disconect it, it makes the sound i'd guess you know what sound it makes. When i also go into setting > devices, it comes up as wireless controller althought i always used it through usb and do not have a bluetooth adapter. Plus my PS button on my controller doesn't work thats why ive always used it on my pc not my ps4. What happened what my friend tried to make one of my games work with my controller, but then uninstalled 'HID-compliant game controller' through device manager. Never worked since then. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about what happened. Here in forum, we mainly support Xbox products and services. Since this is an issue with your PS4 controller, we only have here limited resources to Sony's products. I would advise you to get in touch with PlayStation support for more advanced troubleshooting. It must be a compatibility issue or firmware issue with their product.

Ah that's sad, had a perfect 3 years until my friend decided to change it. Thank you for the help.

Sounds like it might be an issue with that controller. I would try to see if I can get my hands on a different controller just to test it. If the next controller doesnt work it could be console. I would unplug console from wall for 5 mins. Replug make sure
console is all up to date then try again.

I love the adapter with the controls right there at my fingertips.

If I want to use the same headphones and setup(3.5mm right into the controller) on my PS4, I need to go into a totally different menu just to change the volume, or change my setup completely and have cables plugging into two separate devices for an inline
amp to work.

I like it, but it should have been added like you said.
