I am trying to gameshare with my friend but it will not let us make an xbox a home xbox on...

I might not have been clear, there are 2 Xbox's on my network, my sons and mine, we gameshare, so when I try to stream to the Xbox App, it links to his xbox not mine (because the gamesharing "home xbox" setting). I am trying to link the xbox I use, and
trying to find it using the IP is not working.

Try to remove your profile, then turn off the console and remove the power cord; wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the console and sign in!

Then, try again!

If the issue persists, I would strongly suggest trying the troubleshooting steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

Then select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

If the issue persists, try to contact Activision about it for further investigation!

Note: if you already used all 5 home Xbox switches, you won't be able to designate a home console!

Gamesharing with your friend? It sounds like they may have accidentally kicked you off the Gamesharing perk. We unfortunately cannot do anything on our end regarding joining the Gamesharing capability with your friend.

My Xbox said I could make my home Xbox again on the 8th of December. I just went to check and now I can't do it till the 15th of April. Thing is I didn't use any of my home Xbox switches and no one else has access to my account. Is there any way
I can get the switches back?

It is possible that u have ran out of gameshares on your xbox, now the thing is with gamesharing is that your only allowed 3 gameshares a year as from july this year. My best guess is to chat with an ambassador online and to let them see if there is an issue
