I am trying to change my online safety settings for windows 10 edition minecraft.

We understand that you are trying to change your online safety settings for your Xbox profile for join Minecraft. I could not really imagine how important it is for you to be able to rectify this issue at the soonest time possible. To set your expectation, there is a greater chance that you will need to be part of a Family to allow your parent/guardian to make revision to your account's online activity. Aside from that the change of birthdate will not guarantee you to be an adult. The maturity of your account will base on the first birthdate assigned to the account.

5. The third box will ask you to describe your issue and then select the "Next" button.
   
6. The next window will provide you with support articles based on your request and we recommend reviewing the relevant articles before selecting the "See contact options" button.
   
7. On the final window, you will be presented with multiple options. We suggest selecting either the "Chat online" or the "Request a call" options to speak with someone. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible.

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with Minecraft Realms on Windows 10. I recommend to try the following article:

Try this out and let us know the results.

With some further testing, I discovered that any changes to my Privacy settings or Xbox 360 Online Safety settings are kept, but the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety settings are still reverted upon submission.

Zach, when you were in the family group, your privacy settings were managed by a parent/adult account, or you never had to ask for “permission” to change the settings?

If it's the second, please try this potential fix:

Step 1. Go again to your privacy and online safety settings and disable everything under “Privacy” and “Online safety for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10”.

Step 2. Sign out from your account on the Minecraft launcher and the Xbox app.

Step 3. Go to PC Settings > Installed Apps > Look for the Minecraft launcher and go to advanced settings.
Then click “repair” and “reset”.

Step 4. Open one more time your privacy and online safety settings and enable everything for both privacy and online safety tabs.

Step 5. Wait 5-10 minutes and access with your account on the Minecraft launcher and try entering again to the multiplayer features.
