I am trying to add a new email/alias to my account, but it says "this email has already...

That doesn’t work. It says this email already has an account. When I sign into my Xbox account with that email it comes up with another gamertag that isn’t mine that I’ve never used

Thats because the new alias (if its a Microsoft email) would have to be one that doesn't already exist because It creates a new Microsoft email when you go to add a new alias.

t should let you add an alias if your email was already verified, if not, it will ask you to verify the email address that's currently listed first.

Once you add your alias, if its a 3rd party email (gmail, yahoo, etc) then click verify.

When I add the alias email I want to, it says that the alias email is already in use. My alias email is gmail and is already a live account (I use it for my Windows Phone and for OneDrive). I'm stucked, once again

If the email address is part from a Microsoft domain (@outlook.com @hotmail.com etc) is not possible to add it as an existing alias.
Due to each Microsoft domain email is linked automatically to a Microsoft account.

in this case you have 2 options, create a new @outlook address or add non Microsoft domain email address (@gmail.com @yahoo.com @icloud.com etc)

I'm trying to add my new email as alias on my old gamertag but it doesn't work!

I select "Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias" and than I put my email @outlook.com when a message comes up "This email address is already taken. Please try another one"

Is there another way to change the email associated to my old gamertag? Thanks

Hello there RavenSong,

You will need to add a new "Alias" to your Microsoft Account. Then from there you can make that Alias the primary Alias on the account. An Alias is how you sign into your Microsoft Account, so the email associated with the account would be your Alias.

Here is how to add a new alias:

1. Sign into your account with your preexisting Alias and Password.

2. Click Your Info at the top left of the page.

3. Under the Account Info section, click Sign-In Preferences.

4. Under the Account Alias section, click Add Email. (If the email you are trying to add is already a Microsoft email i.e. @hotmail, @live, @msn, @outlook ect, it may say that there is already an account with that email, and thus you will not be able to add it to this account)

5. Once the email is added, next to the email click Make Primary, this will make the new alias the primary one. You can choose to leave your alias on the account, if you want to remove it completely, a new primary alias has to be made beforehand. Just click Remove next to the email alias once it is no longer the primary one.
