    I am not able to re-download Minecraft Java Edition onto a new computer


    I had originally bought Minecraft on my old computer before I had to migrate my Mojang account into my Microsoft account. I now have a new computer and I am trying to re-download Minecraft Java Edition onto my new one but it's saying that I have to buy it again. Is there any way that I can re-download it without buying Minecraft again?

    Be sure to be logged with the account that you used to migrate your Mojang account in the Xbox app and the Microsoft store app, as this only happens if you are using a different Microsoft account, you don't use the login with Microsoft option on the launcher or the migration process wasn't completed, more details here

    Thanks Ricardo, but I downloaded the launcher and from the Microsoft store and used my migrated Microsoft account, but it is still telling me that I have to re-buy Minecraft.

    I can't download minecraft without it wanting me to buy it again. I already bought it onto my Xbox and i want to trasfer the game to my PC

    When you had the game on your previous computer was it downloaded from the Microsoft Store or was it the Java edition from the Minecraft website?
