I bought a gift card via Amazon and it has put it to my Microsoft account and I wanted to add it to my son who is a family member on my account. How do I do this

If you activated it on your Microsoft account then it cant be added to your sons account.

If your son was going to be the one using it then it should have been activated under their own account.

Someone can correct me if im wrong but unles something has changed then this is the case.

Seems like the only option is to find someone who needs a game and gift it to them and get them to buy me a new gift card for the same amount to then redeem on my son's account.

Lots of people with the same problem on the forums, also people who have bought V-Bucks on the parent's account and then can't transfer them to the kids account ( glad I saw that before I made the same mistake).

Tried logging into x-box with my account and then logging into fortnite with my sons account to buy the v-bucks with my money but that isn't possible either as the fortnite account is locked to my son's login.

Thanks for your suggestions but looks like I will just have to ask around or wait to see if there is a game I can gift to him or a friend in the future.

I purchased a 3 month gold live gift card and a $25 gift card. I added the cards via my computer under my Microsoft account and now when I went to my xbox360 console to purchase a game it won't allow me to and it doesn't show my recent card purchases. I

Hi , look thanks for the tip re buying v-bucks with Microsoft funds you've added but taking me into settings and leading me to a place ive been many a time where i can see what I already know (that theres forty bucks on my son's Microsoft account) ISN'T
helpful in that it doesn't answer the question or solve the problem if you like that better. What im stuck on is how to convert the account funds into his epic games account i guess, where it shows his V-BUCK balance! The ONLY balance a six year old who's
already unwrapped the other presents from everyone else cares about, believe me!haha. And yes also tried restarting console to see if that would magic the v-bucks into his epic games dashboard and, ehhhhhh,no.
