i activate the digital key but when i try to play, it ask me for the cd, key or purchase

Hello, I have activated GTA 4 game on my steam account. Activation, download and installation was successful. When I run GTA 4 game, then I must log in to my windows live account, but after login I received a "invalid CD key" error. I try to enter my CD
key manually, but I receive the same error.

Can You help me, please?

Unfortunately we really can't help with License Keys bought from unauthorised third party sellers, and CD-Keys is not authorised by Microsoft.

These digital key sellers operate in shady ways, often the keys are obtained from other regions or are stolen. It's likely your License has been detected as unauthorised and revoked.

You would need to contact CD-Keys for further help. I would ask for a refund.

Where did you buy the game code from? Was it a key selling platform like G4A or CD-Keys or Kinguin or something like that?

Be aware that there are often scammers that try to sell fake or stolen codes to unsuspecting victims.

Usually, if there are problems with the code, the seller then asks you to contact the Xbox Support, asking for information that the Xbox support can't provide due to privacy reasons.

Since the sellers know that, they can continue to sell "fake" keys, telling the store that they wanted to refund you, but *you* didn't provide the necessary information for the refund.

And so the sellers can continue to scam people on these key selling platforms.

Also, you could contact the Activision support, asking if the code is valid and just not activated yet.

You would have to buy a new physical CD that includes the key, or purchase it digitally from Steam.

I'm having a problem with the Games For Windows Client too. I have the games installed fine, but when I run a game it asks for an activation key, but when trying to get the key from the client all I get is...

Not useful.

Looks to me like whatever server they used to store and issue keys is down/gone. If I'm right I'd suggest the best course of action would be to give everyone who bought from them Steam keys or similar, then they can turn the servers off for good.
