If you want to cancel a pre-order, please log in to:

https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders then search for the item you would like to cancel. Click Manage, then cancel.

If you are already charged for it, you can request a refund here:

https://support.xbox.com/en-US/forms/request-a-.... You can find the order number of your transaction by signing in to your email at this link: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/. Once you're done submitting your request, you'll receive an email result within 72 hours and if your request gets approved, it will take 3-5 business days for the funds to reflect on your bank account but it really depends on your bank's policy.

I think you forgot to read the disclaimer

When you pre-order something you do not get charged until 10days before release canceling a pre-order before that confirms the cancelation but since you canceled before release and assuming it was over10 days before release since I donno when it is for your region

Yeah. So long as the game is not released and still in pre-order, you should be able to cancel and get refunded.
