If so, please try the following procedure, that may help you to reinstall the driver:

1. Disconnect the controller from your PC, including the USB cable.

2. Restart your PC.

Unfortunately this is happening due to every controller has an unique ID. This is why you're getting number increased.

The best option is delete the previous controller on device manager

I have tried to delete the previous controller on device manager, it is OK.

But as a tester, I have to test a lot of the same new controllers, it is hard to delete every controller,

That happened to me too. I accidentally deleted all of the data on my Xbox and I can't get it back.

Hi, thx for responding. I tried that but nope, I would then need to cancel my subscription.(it seems to be the only way) There is a link under "manage devices" but all it does is tell you that you need to sync your device from your PC and then it will be
listed. And there is no way to sync music to your device from the Xbox music site that I can find...
