    I wanted to cancel my Ultimate game pass, as I'm not getting much out of it and budgetary restrictions mean I'm better off at the moment using plain old Gold.

    I went onto my microsoft account online and clicked on my subscriptions, and tried to cancel the game pass. It said I couldn't really cancel it because the renewal had just been paid for. Well damn. Nevermind then. So I just turned off the auto renew option
    for it so I wouldn't be charged in February, and would revert back to Gold.

    Here's the interesting part. Either:

    - When I clicked to cancel my Ultimate pass and turned off auto-renew, it cancelled my Gold live as well

    OR

    - When I thought I was clicking to cancel Ultimate pass I accidentally cancelled by Gold live as well

    Anyway, Gold is now listed on my account as very much cancelled, but Game pass is still on there, paid for and running. Next bill due this time next month.

    I can access the game pass library and download/install games from it ... but I can't connect to Live at all. Nothing. Nada.

    When someone invites me to a party chat the Xbox takes me to 'buy gold' or 'buy game pass'. Well I already bought game pass, so that's no good. I have tried to buy/extend/reinstate gold but it won't let me. I assume this is because I'm already running game
    pass and that supersedes Gold live.

    I have checked my connectivity to the Wifi and run diagnostics on the Xbox to make sure it is able to connect and there's no problems, and it says its fine in that respect.

    How do I fix this conundrum please? I have hundreds of games I can play and no one to play them with. If I'm overlooking a really simple fix please let me know. Ta.

    On Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to
    access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.

    On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.

    The option you have now is to upgrade your Game Pass for Console to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate so you can have access to the game pass library as well as play online multiplayer games.

    Or you can buy an individual Xbox Live Gold subscription.

    You can also cancel the subscription, then check the option "cancel and refund immediately" so you can get the correct subscription that you would like.

    You be able to keep them but you won't be able to play them. Unless, your playing on xbox 360. On Xbox 360 you can play games with gold if you dont have a Xbox Live subscription.

    i also have question about game pass. My subscription for gold just renewed this month. I have a promotional code for one month of game pass ultimate. Now in the game pass faq it says when subscribing to game pass the account is upgraded and all the remaining
    gold subscription migrated over. So my question is if i cancel game pass after one month will i go back to xbox live gold or do i need to resubscribe.
