    Long story short...

    I bought Halo Wars 2

    Installed it on my desktop and played it with no issue

    Attempted to install it on my laptop, was given a notification that "Halo Wars 2 does not work on my device"

    Unable to install Halo Wars 2 on my laptop.

    Check the system requirements.

    My laptop meets and slightly exceeds minimum requirements.

    Why can't I just install it on my laptop? Why does Microsoft/Xbox/343 impose a limitation to my installation based on my hardware?

    Back in the old days, I would install any game on my 2006 laptop and run it at 15fps without any limitation, so why should I be unable to install a game that I am able to run on one PC but not the other.

    I can understand if their rationale is that they are trying to preserve the integrity of my pc without damaging any components that might result in running a video game that is very intensive on my pc, but I bought my own damn pc. Let me take a leap of faith.

    As IRB has stated it's not possible. Sorry.

    For system security and Anti-piracy, Microsoft have prevented Xbox One consoles from being able to read 'game data' or other types of code from being run from an un-trusted source. If the Xbox One were able to read these files, run them or copy them to
    the console, this could be used as 'back door' to the console to circumvent the OS and run unsigned code.

    In laymen's terms, they don't allow this as it could be utilised by hardware hackers to get the console to run software that it is not meant to run, such as illegally obtained pirated games.

    If your 360 console won't connect via wireless, then you'll have to find a way to connect it via a wired connection. You will then need to copy the save files to the cloud to use them on your Xbox One.

    This is the only way to get save games from a 360 to an Xbox One. There is no other way.

    he most common reason why disc are not authorized is either because they are pirated games "illegal Copies" or part of the game is damaged.

    - First of all OP, you used the "Philosoraptor" meme completely wrong.

    - Second of all, if you have a LEGITIMATE retail copy of the game, you are safe to play it without punishment from Microsoft. The only people who will be punished are the people who are playing illegal and pirated copies of the game in which case the person
    must modify their Xbox to play. Playing pirated games AND modding your Xbox are both violations of the ToS and CoC.
