    HP Elite Dragonfly F8 mute button not working


    a little bit ago my mute button suddenly stopped functioning entirely, after no issues whatsoever. although there is no physical damage and the keys surrounding it are completely fine. i have tried restarting my computer and my fn lock is off, and it is very infuriating not being able to turn off my microphone. i know it's not broken, because the f8 key works just fine, but the orange light (the built-in LEDs work fine) and mute function aren't there. am i doing wrong or is it a software/hardware issue, if so do i have to pay to get it fixed? thanks

    If your hardware drivers are up to date and the issue persists, sorry to say but it seems like a hardware issue and your computer needs to be inspected

    If you still have warranty on your device, you don't need to pay
    Warranty is going to cover that

    Sometimes this seems to happen after Windows Updates....might be worth looking at the solutions in this thread from the HP website (it is about a different model but still the same principle):

    Whether that resolves the mic issue or not is debatable
