Howcome my title updates dont work on my console when i play games on disc

My title updates are not working

if i havent been hacked howcome iv played fifa 11 when i dont own it and my password changed? hmmmm

My console is always connected by cable to the internet unless I am checking it, as I said above none of the games are damaged. I can play my 360 format games but the original titles will not boot, it says reading and then gives
me the unrecognized disc code. When I'm online X Box Live does not prompt me to install any updates, it plays the 360 games so my disc drive is working and it loads the last save for those games which means my HD is functional

As I stated in my support thread, I had a friend loan me his disc to see if it was anything to do with my gamertag and his disc worked fine. I was able to get into the game.

When you start the game on demand version and it asks for the title update, after downloading it, does it take you back to your Xbox home screen or does it continue on with the game? For me, when doing this with the disc it continues on with the game as
it should. When getting the title update with the GoD version, it takes me back to the home screen. I think this is some indication there is something amiss.

so i took the disc back today and exchanged it, have yet to try it at home but perhaps some will find this information useful:

While at the store (Microplay, Ottawa, Canada) the clerk allowed me to use the 'corrupted' disc in conjunction with my 60G HDD on a display console. My 60G HDD has both the recent Dashboard update AND the forza 4 title update on it.

When i inserted the 'corrupted' disk the console prompted me to update the dashboard (presumably this info is on the F4 disk as the display console is not connected to XBlive).

After doing so I played F4 without error for roughly 25 minutes. This lead me to believe it was a problem with my console.

BUT

If it is indeed my console, then why does Forza 4 work on my console, without error, when I use my 20GB HDD?

The problem is not isolated to any one thing.

NOT My console

NOT either one of my HDD's

NOT the game disk in question

NOT Title Update 1

but maybe the XBox live enabled version of the dashboard update(the one we we're all prompted to accept this past week.

WTH is going on?!?!?!?!?!?!?
