how will the people buy Minecraft after Xbox marketplace/store's shut down?

Xbox announced this closure well in advance, so it is recommended that players purchase the games they want during this period. Once the store is closed, it will not be possible to buy Xbox 360 games digitally from that marketplace, including Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition.

However, remember that this will only affect games that can be purchased digitally. If you have a game in disc format, you will still be able to play it without any issues. After July 2024, obtaining new games that were not previously purchased digitally will require physical disc copies.

Cool thanks. Will be interesting to see how they handle the 360 after the next console launches. I would think they would let it linger a bit longer sine there are so many units out there and they can buy stuff from the marketplace. Of course shutting it
down forces people to buy a new console to play online. Interesting.

If after the 360 marketplace shuts down and you want to change your gamertag, you can do so either on an Xbox One, or through the website. Change Xbox live gamertag

Anything purchased from the 360 marketplace prior to its shutdown remains yours as you purchased it.
