How was I able to acquire a gamertag that is not allowed?

So a little while back I was able to create a new account with a gamertag that uses a "bad" word and when I try to change my other gamertag to this same name it says the gamertag isn't allowed. First off, how was I able to acquire this gamertag and second if I change it will it be lost forever considering it says the tag is not allowed? This is all so weird to me.

Hello, I don't know how you wrote the word the first time you chose the Gamertag, but as the Gamertag exchange system is completely automatic for some reason the previous name may have passed the first time.

In case you are trying to change the name and the system does not allow it, you will have to write the name in a different way or choose another Gamertag.

It isn't but I was hoping with Admins I would be able to acquire a digital code that would allow me to download it by changing my settings over to UK settings

Hi there!

As Gamertags are now used for more than the consoles and are relevant on many other platforms you would not be able to acquire one that has a low Gamerscore or appears to not play on the console.

If a Gamertag says it is unavailable it is unavailable. There would be no way to acquire it.

P l a t y p u s may not exist but Platypus does. Sometimes a gamertag will be blocked because a similar one with, or without, spaces exists.
