How to view slideshow from media player of network files without cropping each photo - HELP!

HELLO - should be simple but I can find nothing on the internet. I have my Xbox One S networked. Through media player I can see and play most media files that are on my computer via my XBOX to my large screen TV (standard Microsoft network file sharing
protocol). It's a very nice feature, but...

PROBLEM - the default display format of the Microsoft media player app is to do transitions from picture to picture by moving them around the screen, zoomed out then zooming in on each picture. It's one of many ways to build cute transitions from photo
to photo. Unfortunately the default programming is to significantly crop each file as it allows the onscreen movement. I HATE THAT. I take well planned photos and I want to view all the beauty of each photo vs. cropped pictures. I can't find any settings
    options for the media player.

I then downloaded and tried to view via the Photos app - but it can't see my network files (argh!). HELP!!!

Does anyone know how to change the transition method that is burned into the slideshow function of the app

    OR

Know a different app that will view my network files and allow me to do a slideshow of them without modifying the appearance of each photo?

    THANKS!

    :)

  2. How do I generate a random picture slideshow on Xbox One?

All I want to do is have Xbox show me a random slideshow of all my family pics. With 360 Media Center Connector I could kick-off a playlist and choose to view my pictures and it would give me exactly that (a random slideshow of all my family pics). I have
the Media Player app but the music player does not have the option to view my pictures (how do I submit a feature request?) and I see there are 'picture playlists' but that's not realistic with 50,000 pictures. Thank you for taking the time to read this and
I hope you can help me out.

xbox one media player photo slideshow

I am trying to play a slideshow on my xbox One using pictures on my external hard drive. I have them all in one folder, and I have the hard drive connected properly. It plays all of the photos, however, it zooms in and out too much on each one. So instead
of seeing the whole subject, you can only see a mustache, or one eye, or the trees behind the subject for example. If I choose the photo singularly, it does not do this (though, it still does not show the whole photo if the size of the photo is not the a
basic 4x6 or 5x7). Is there a way to change the settings of the slideshow?

I do not believe that there's a way to change the transitions but you could try the VLC player app and it may show pictures with a better transition. I also think it can detect network storage, the VLC app. Not exactly sure about pictures but it does do
    video and audio.

thanks ChiefJoboo - unfortunately VLC does not allow me to view photos.

So far, I've tried several MS apps (Photos, Media Player, other apps to build a slideshow, etc.). I need to do all three of the following:

+ View my network files or the files I copied on a USB thumb drive and inserted in the machine, AND

+ arrange all the photos into a slide show, AND

+ NOT crop the photos in the process.

Of all the apps, they can do 1 or 2 of the above attributes, but NOT all three!!!

I'm now resorting to simply making my own video slideshow the good old fashioned manual way (using PowerDirector). I'll then hopefully be able to view that video file via my network.

If anyone else has a simple solution so going forward I don't have to make videos of my photos (individually organized into their own folders) each time, that would be appreciated!

    Xbox 360 windows media center

If your phone is an Android device and can be used as a standard removable drive via USB, you could plug in the phone via USB as Fl0ydPinkert0n suggests.

If you have an iOS device, or your phone can't be used as a standard removable mass storage device, you have these options:

Import the photos to your PC and either copy them to an USB drive, or add the photos to a folder that is scanned by the Windows Media Player.

After you added the photos to the Media Player Library (usually importing them to the Photos folder under your user account is sufficient), check that your photos appear in the Windows Media Player library.

Then make sure media sharing is enabled under Windows 10. Open the start menu and open the "classic" Control panel. You should find the Controlpanel app by typing "Control" in the search bar of the start menu.

Under the Control panel, go to Network and Internet, then Network and Sharing Center, and set up the Media Streaming options.

Make sure your Xbox 360 console is running, and you should see the console in the list of available streaming devices in your network. If you don't see your Xbox 360, disable third party firewalls, like Norton Antivirus, McAffee Antivirus and the likes,
    or allow traffic to pass.

Allow streaming to the Xbox 360.

Now go to the Xbox 360, and start the dashboard media player (not the Windows Media Center). Choose as source your network PC or the USB drive you copied your pictures to.

Now you should be able to view your pictures on the Xbox 360 without Media Center.

XBox 360 zeigt JPG-Bilder nicht an (DVD+R mit 669 Bildern) [Translation: XBox 360 displays JPG images not to (DVD + R with 669 photos)]

    Hey there mamolear!

What happens when you try to view the photos on your console? Does it just not register the DVD-R at all?

You could try putting the photos on a formatted
    USB drive
    and viewing them from there.

You could also try setting up media streaming from your PC to your console to view your pictures like that. Here's a link to our
stream media using Xbox Music, Xbox Video, or Windows Media Player support article which should walk you through everything you need.

    I hope that helps! ^_^
