How to verify child account on Xbox

You can verify the child's account by signing in to https://account.microsoft.com/family using the adult account/organizer account, you'll have an option to verify it from there on the right side of your child's account.

the reason for this is because of the COPPA (CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY PROCTECTION ACT) //

Starting today some U.S. child accounts (under 13) will no longer be able to log into their Xbox 360 (in some instances Xbox Music on Windows 8 or 8.1) until a parent verifies the child account on Xbox.com. All new child accounts will be required to verify
that an adult is giving permission to a child to create a new Xbox Live account.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to create a child account. We recommend following the

guide for add a family member. We recommend trying it through the parent account as described in how to create a Microsoft account for a child. There are two different ways to verify.

A parent needs to verify the addition of the child to the family with a mobile device, PC, or Xbox One console:

1. If you select This Xbox: Enter your Microsoft account, and then follow the steps to provide consent to create the child account.
   
2. If you select Their phone/PC: You’ll be prompted for your email address. Enter it and then follow the steps in the email you receive to provide consent to create the child account.

Look over this
article that explains how to update your online and privacy settings on the Xbox console or from Xbox.com.

Just be aware child accounts need permission to change any settings from a verified adult account.

Reason for this : COPPA ( CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT)

You will need to go to xbox.com sign into your child account so that info will pop out for the parent to sign in. Once you have read the statement you will be charge a 1 time fee of $.50 cents on your account
