How to update address on Microsoft developer account?

Is there any way to simply update the email address associated with my profile? The email address is no longer active. Or do I have to create an entirely new microsoft account to update it? Both the above links are instructions how to change the account
to a new account. I just wish to update my email address therefore updating my log in.

When you update the email address you are updating the email through Microsoft which will also reflect on your Xbox account as they are linked together and not actually 2 separate accounts.

I understand you want to update your account information, Now, you won't be able to actually transfer your account to a new email address but you can always update it. Just keep in mind, if this is a Microsoft email (for example: outlook or Hotmail) it will
be deleting the email address permanently. In other words if this is an email that your father uses for personal use, or for work even, he will be loosing the email address.
