How to unscrew my Xbox controller

Have you tried clearing your xbox system cache and powercycling your network?

If you have a cable modem with a *** in coxial cable, you could try unscrewing that and using a soft cloth to discharge the static. Only unscrew the end from the modem - the wall end is the grounded side.

If your X4's have the wide puck that slots into the XBOX360 controller just unscrew or remove the puck. Then cut off the 2 plastic tabs and you're left with just Jack that fits into the adapter. I did it on a pair of Tritons. There were 2 little screws on
the "puck" I just unscrewed them and removed it.

I have now bought the official Xbone Stereo headset as the game sound and chat come down just the small cable that attaches to the controller. On my Trittons I have to plug the red/white RCA leads into the audio out on my TV.

The official stereo headset sounds great and is essentially wireless. Although it is £59 but it does have the Audio adapter in the box which £20 on its own.

Well in Australia we suffer from both. I have 200GB a month but I'd rather not reinstall 40gb games if I don't have to.

The controller on PS4 must be wired to ps4 or charged using a Dock. On X1 I can use my Dock or use my AAA recharge batteries without ever having to use the wire to the X1. When they die I buy new ones and swap out with ease. No unscrewing controllers to
change them out.

Unfortunately this is highly unlikely to be related to a controller update, it's more often than not a hardware problem. (small bands hold the analog module central, if they wear out they may not hold it in the optimal position)
