    How to shut off microphone in xbox game bar


    We try to play xbox games on pc but then everyone has a hot mic and no way to shut it off, I contacted Microsoft but the non AMERICAN did not know how or what I was even talking about.

    The Microsoft forums says there is no way it is a feature.

    Xbox game bar won't pick up microphone during recordings

    Hi digerus,

    Hope you're doing well despite your technology issues. You mentioned your microphone feed is not being picked up when recording with the Xbox Game Bar.

    If you open up the Game Bar and select the Voice tab on the Audio section, does it show the microphone as the default communications input?

    If you go to settings > privacy & security > Microphone is the toggle shut off for game bar? This would prevent microphone from working.

    Games and microphone reccording problem

    Hi Iman976,

    Since this is happening with games bought and used from different platforms, there may be a PC setting that is causing this to happen. There's a possible setting where you have to turn on the microphone to record voice in your videos.

    Go ahead and follow this guide to set up your headset microphone or any other microphone you use:

    On the Game bar, go ahead and toggle the microphone mute button on and off when recording a video to test it out.

    Try going into your microphone settings and make sure that you have given the Xbox Game Bar app permission to access your microphone!
