How to Share/Post in-game taken screenshots from PC to the Xbox App? And is there a way to...

Hello, my question is basically the subject. I am on Windows 11 and as far as I know, I see no way to post in-game taken screenshots taken from using the Xbox shortcut WindowsKey+Alt+PrtScrn. In Windows 10, we had the Xbox Console Companion App and you used to be able to post screenshots to your Gamertag's "Profile Activity Feed" for others to view. Now come to Windows 11, we have now just called the "Xbox App." This version is completely stripped of features vs the Windows 10 "Xbox Console Companion App." (For those who don't know, these are 2 completely different apps.)

So again, my question is it at all possible to take in-game screenshots via Windows 11 PC to post/share to my "Activity Feed Page" for friends and others to see? Or to the "Friends & Community Updates" page (as seen on an Xbox console). You used to be able to do this back on Windows 10 Xbox Console Companion App.

My last question, on the Windows 10 Xbox app, there used to be a feature called the "Looking for Groups." It was a page that was found when navigating to a game's profile page or otherwise known as "Go to Official Club" of the game within the Xbox Console Companion App and you could view community posts and join group sessions associated with the game. Is this feature at all available to access on a Windows 11 PC? I don't see this feature at all on the Win11 Xbox App.

    Thank you for any responses.

EDIT: Please disregard my second question. I had no idea the "Looking for Groups" feature was hidden within the Win+G>Widget Menu and NOT accessible within the actual Xbox app, (very unintuitive imo). However, I still would like to know if my first question has a solution please, thank you.

    :)

How to Share/Post in-game taken screenshots from PC to the Xbox App? And is there a way to use the "Looking for Groups" feature on PC?

    Thanks for the extra update!

    I didn't see your edit.

But yes, for now the upload screenshots has been disabled

Let's see if Microsoft decides to re-add it in the future.

For now we may need to wait

Hi Josef, thank you for your response!

Ah, so you are right about that, I did not know the Xbox Console Companion app was an available download via the Windows 11 Micrsoft Store. I previously had thought the Companion App was tied and only available on Windows 10. I thought they completely did away with it and replaced it with the newer Xbox app.

Anyway, well I did just download it and try the app out and I tried to upload an in-game taken screenshot and unfortunately it states:

"This app no longer supports this feature

Game clips and screenshots can only be uploaded from an Xbox console at this time."

So, I assume the answer is it is not possible at all to do this anymore from a PC.
Also yes, I had updated my post probably right before you replied, I had found the answer to my second question.

Well, I will still mark your post as a solution for taking your time to provide some insight on this, thank you.
Just a shame you can't really use this feature anymore on PC.

Edit: I like the picture of the cat on your shoulder in the profile picture lol

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.

I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today XEvoUmbreonX

You can download the Xbox console companion app in Windows 11 via Microsoft Store

    https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9WZDN...

Right now I'm not able to test in my Windows 11 PC to see if the ability to post your screenshot to your activity feed is available. (if you can do it for me in order to double check that could be great)

But as far as I know is now not possible to upload/share screenshots from PC to the Xbox Live network

    https://support.xbox.com/help/friends-social-ac...

About the second question, you can still look for groups (LFG) but now you do it using the game bar.

To do it press Windows + G > Click on Widget menu > Looking for a group

    questions for microsoft leadership

    Hello!

Hope you are well. I'll be glad to assist you.

Just a fiendly reminder that this is a public forum and those of us who participate in it are ordinary gamers. In this forum you will not find a way to contact a Microsoft leadership.

Unfortunately, screenshots and clips taken on consoles cannot be viewed on PC, only in the smartphone app.

On PC, you can only view screenshots taken directly from the PC using the Gamebar app.

If you want to view your console screenshots on a PC, you have the alternative of uploading them to OneDrive and downloading and viewing them from a browser.

    Best regards!

xbox console companion how to link a screenshot to a certain game?

    Hi Dem Alesis,

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, there is not a way to associate external screenshots with games when uploaded through the companion app. The screenshot must be taken via game bar or on an Xbox One to have the game associated with the capture. Since
Steam is another platform, it's game data that associated with screenshots will not show on the Xbox console companion app.

I hope this answers your question.
