    how to setup kinect as your microphone?


    We only have one headset between two users at the moment and would like to use the kinect for a microphone in party chat and game chat for the second user. How can we set it up so I can hear the voice of those in a party or in game chat through the tv speakers
    and I can speak through the kinect.

    Finding the dashboard system very unintuitive.

    You definitely don't need to use it as in have it actively broadcasting you, during Broadcast setup you can disable Kinect and Microphone or a combination of the two.

    However, I don't know if the Kinect needs to be at least plugged in to your console. Would seem odd if it does.

    Thanks for the reply. I recommend trying the following article:
    Turn Xbox 360 Kinect features on or off    .

    • Chat Microphone: Turn the chat microphone on if you want to talk to players while playing a game, or if you are using Video Kinect.

      Learn about Video Kinect      . If you turn off the chat microphone, speech recognition still works.

    Try this and let us know the results.

    having problems with headset in xboxone chat ?

    It does not force you to use the kinect for chat. You can turn your kinect off as a microphone by going to settings and selecting kinect and deselect the microphone option
