How To Set Up Dolby Atmos on Series X

Hi All!

I may just be missing something obvious, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to set up my Dolby Atmos on my Series X. I paid the license fee, it shows I have access via the app, but it says I have to plug my headset into the controller to set up. I don't understand how to do this. The only headset I have is official Xbox Wireless Headset that launched with the console, and I don't see anywhere to plug a 3.5mm into the headset, only USB-C.

What strikes me as odd is when I first got the headset it worked fine, but I hadn't used it for months and pulled it out yesterday to use it again and the interface must have changed with the Dolby App with an update. I went into the app (as changing to Dolby Atmos in the System's settings wasn't working) and the only option I can potentially do for setup is via USB/wireless. Then I do that and it says it needs to plug into controller.

How in the world can a headset that was ADVERTISED with Dolby Atmos in mind and came with a 6 month trial of it not have a way of setting up in the app?

What am I missing? Has anybody else had this issue, and if so, how did you solve it?

Settings are all set up for atmos, the UHD player doednt support Dolby Atmos metadata. Highest it can do is Dolby Tru HD. The one x plays games - streams content from netflix, youtube etc in Dolby Atmos this is confirmed on thr TV and the Sound system.
I have dolby access all my components are correct. I dont see why if microsoft have the license for Atmos (as its funtioning on all other aspects in tbr console) that they wouldnt just do a software update so the UHD player can. Looking at thr specs on tbe
series x that still shows the new UHD player on the series x still doesnt put out dolby atmos. Needs updating

I have the problem that Netflix Dolby Atmos is not working with the x box S, if I try to play a series with Dolby Atmos, then Netflix give the text:

This title can not play try later?

Configuration is ok at the x box s and all other content without Dolby Atmos will play correct.

If someone have a solution?

Hi!

So I tried your method, and it was still locking me out of the option to even select Atmos. What I did was then uninstall both Dolby apps from the Xbox, restart the console and then reinstall the apps. When I did that, everything worked just fine. So your method may work normally, but for my particular issue, reinstalling and restarting did the trick.
