    How to retrieve overwritten Save Game Data


    Hello

    My son & I have been playing Lego Avengers for a while now, and this is the second time he's Overwrote our saved game data.

    Lego Marvel Super Heroes only has 4 Game Save Data slots. My son keeps going to New Game and overwriting our previously Saved game.

    When I look at our progress on Xbox Live, we're 50% through the game. Is there anyway to retrieve the saved data back to my console?

    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I've also tried deleting all local console data. When I install the game and boot up, there is a quick flash saying it's "Syncing cloud data", but then it only has our latest new game data that overwrote
    our saved game data.

    Is there any way to retrieve the months of hard work?

    If not, is there a better way I can manage my saved game data? like save it externally, or allow myself to manage it since the auto-backup solution doesn't help in this scenario?

    Unfortunately it's not possible to retrieve lost data, once it has been overwritten on the cloud, the old data is completely lost.

    Game save is gone by picking "new game" option (Xbox one)

    I don't believe once the save has been overwritten there is any way to retrieve it from past days.

    Unfortunately there is no way to retrieve the saved data once it's synced to the cloud, which happens immediately if you're connected to the internet when you're playing.

    If you had been offline when this happened, the next time you connected you would have had the option of choosing between most recent local save (offline save on the hard drive) or your most recent (older) cloud save.

    There's currently no way to manage game saves on external media, but you can share that suggestion on Xbox Feedback, which is read by the platform and engineering team and used to assess future feature updates:

    Sorry there's no way to retrieve the save in this instance. It might be an idea to keep your main save in slot 3 or 4 if you are planning to restart (or for other Lego games), so that if he does accidentally overwrite slot 1 it's not going to be your main
    game; that doesn't help much in this current data loss, but hopefully prevents future ones.

    Hello again, I don't know what happened to your data from the physical games, but even with disc games, the progress is saved in the Microsoft cloud, if by chance there was an error or by chance the save was overwritten by a newer one, unfortunately it won't be possible to retrieve them.

    Unfortunately, your save data is now overwritten by the backup file you chose. At this point, there is no way to retrieve that data after it has been overwritten through Xbox. You may want to contact Forza forums to see if the developers have any extra options

    To my knowledge, there are no "old versions" of data. Data is overwritten as it comes in. If you deleted the data, there would be no way to retrieve it.
