    How to retrieve gamertag


    Hi. So basically I transferred my data from one device to another, making it so I have to re-login to everything. For Minecraft, it won't let me log into my Microsoft account because I don't remember the email for it, as I signed up quite a while ago and have a new account now. Is there a way to find out the email/username for the Microsoft account without directly signing into it? I do have the information for the Gamertag and the Minecraft account name. Thanks!

    Please keep in mind that most of the methods mentioned on this support page are meant for users who have, at one point, played on an Xbox console. If you don't have an Xbox console, please refer to the last two methods to see if they apply to your case.

    Additionally, I'd suggest checking if you are still signed in to your Microsoft account on other devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers.

    • If you believe you have found your email address but you don't remember its password, please try resetting your password or filling out Microsoft's account recovery form.

    Unfortunately, signing in using your Gamertag / username alone is not possible. If you still have access to your previous device, I'd suggest checking if you are still signed in to your Microsoft account through one of its apps or browsers.

    Additionally, I'm afraid Xbox Support can't tell you your email address, even if you know your Gamertag. This is mentioned at: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-pro...

    Hey! Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately, I've only used this account for Minecraft on PC, not on Xbox, and the separate method doesn't work. I have the Gamertag and username, so if there is a way to sign in with those rather than the Microsoft account, that would probably be the best way to do it. Thanks!

    Deleting Microsoft accounts does not actually delete the Xbox account as well. You can try contacting support to see if they can get you back into the account. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or http://support.xbox.com/contact-us
