How to report a real life threat to PET

Hi there,

Not sure where to put this so it gets the attention it needs but...

At approximately 1040-1043pm CST a
gamercard by [mod removed] and his associated friend in party chat threatened to attack my network via DDOS and possibly worse (SWATTING). They stated they obtained my IP in party and in a message log (1043pm CST) which I will keep
a record of. I wanted to escalate this to the Policy Enforcement Team to gain a quick resolution. That and my network is shared with multiple people and would like to ensure Directed Denial of Service attack does not go unpunished.

We as subscribers to Xbox Live should not have to put up with this kind of behavior and appreciate any additional support Xbox Live team members can provide.

I will happily give any information further required in an investigation should you need it via a secure medium.

f you have an Xbox Live account, your Xbox console could experience a DoS attack or DDoS attack from another Xbox Live account holder. DoS attacks and DDoS attacks are sometimes used as retaliation between
Xbox Live game players.

If you think you've experienced a DoS or DDoS attack, we recommend that you reset your Internet router and contact your Internet service provider (ISP). If you know who initiated the DoS or DDoS attack,
you may also want to submit a player review to Xbox Live and avoid the attacker in the future.

You should report and block any individuals involved in the harassment. There are support resources online available by Microsoft on what to do if you are DDOS or if some one threatens some sort of malicious intent on you or anyone you are with.

Threats of SWATTING should probably be reported to local law enforcement by calling their non-emergency number and not 911. If threats on your life are made in anyway, those should be urgently reported to an emergency hotline.

Above all else, report and block malicious users and make sure to not escalate problems. Always use the available resources as much as possible but never take matters into your own hands and retaliate. Some issues require patience. Reports and stuff don't
get processed instantly.

You would need to file a complaint on them via the profile (instructions here https://enforcement.xbox.com/home/howto#sub-topic2-0) The enforcement
team will investigate it from there. However, since ddos attacks are done through your internet and not Live, if they do perform an attack, you will need to contact your ISP for assistance.

Then you don't know how the rep works then

Each report is reviewed and scored for accuracy by the pet

Rep reports dont nessarily equate a suspension but would equate a rep declduction

Think of it like this

Your rep is based on how people perceive your behaviour not how you perceive it just like in real life

You may think you are perfect but others think you are annoying or disruptive

There is no reset button on rep in real life
