How to remove music from ORIGINAL Xbox hard drive.

Hi friends!

I need to get some music files off my ORIGINAL xbox hard drive. PC cannot read the drive. I am an artist and the only copy of some of my music is stuck here.

The drive shows as a E:// within Explorer . But this is not accessable.

Can anyone help?

try booting your pc with a ubuntu live image on disc or usb pen to see if you can see the drive, i know the OG xbox drives are encrypted and locked to the specific system, you can get instructions online to unlock the drive as this is freely available info
now from seagate.

normally the only way to retrieve files from the OG hdd is via ftp.

We recommend you use only original Xbox 360 brand hard drives. But installing them is a very simple and easy process. ^_^

Hello,

You cannot use the hard drive in the transfer cable mode to play original Xbox games. The hard drive needs to be an original Xbox 360 hard drive and it also needs to either go inside the console if you have a Xbox 360 S, or on top of the console if you have
an Original Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 Elite.

Actually, I think the original question was if there's a way to just transfer the playlists as they are in iTunes into Xbox Music without potentially having to recreate all the playlists. I don't think the question was regarding compatibility...because they
are compatible. Xbox, Windows and WP8 are all able to play songs downloaded from iTunes.

To answer the question though... I think it depends on how you have your music files organized on your hard drive. If your songs on your hard drive are not organized the way you have your iTunes playlists, you will have to recreate them in Xbox Music. If
on your hard drive your music is organized into those playlists you love and don't want to have to recreate, then you are able to import those playlists right into Xbox Music. I've done it. Actually I'm working on it right now and am in the middle of switching
everything over to Xbox Music, Video, etc.
