How to remove family settings?

Hi all,

I am currently trying to change my Account location/region however it is not letting me due to “Family settings” on my account. I have looked on my account and I was the host of a family, so I’ve removed everyone from the family and removed myself so on Microsoft I am now not in any family however this error still shows whenever I try to change my region.

Microsoft support doesn’t seem to be able to help and there’s nothing on the website to tell you what to do if this happens. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Sorry to hear it.

The online tutorials are incorrect as each console is different and the family settings are linked to the console's serial number. You would need to contact phone support in order to get the proper code for your console.

You'll still need the password for your parental account in order to be able to sign in before you can remove your family settings. You can try reseting the password on your parental account in order to be able to accept the new terms -

support.xbox.com/.../forgot-microsoft-account-password

Once you're able to sign back in, you will need to promote your account to an adult account in order to remove family settings -

support.xbox.com/.../online-safety
