How to redeem promotion code

I have been referred here by XBox Support after being referred there by MS Store Support. For the third time, I purchased an Xbox One Minecraft bundle on Black Friday. That bundled included a $25 MS Store gift card. The gift card was not included in the
shipment with the Xbox though, rather I was sent an email that states (actual promo code redacted):

Thank you ordering an Xbox One console. Here is your $25 Microsoft Store gift code, and how to use it:

1. Come back to Microsoft Store and shop for what you want.

2. At checkout, use promo code --------- and your $25 credit will appear

There are not further instructions on how to use the code. I tried purchasing a download of a game but was never given a place to enter the promo code. What am I supposed to do with this code?

Email link to redeem Microsoft Points promotion no longer working

For pre ordering GTAV through the Microsoft Online Store, I received a promotion of 1600 Microsoft Points which could be redeemed via a coupon code and a link to Microsoft's Online store. Six months later in attempting to redeem the code, the email link
no longer works. So, I'm stuck with a 1600 Microsoft Point coupon with nowhere to redeem it. How can I redeem this promotion?

i played demo before buy the forza horizon 4 but i didn't get promotion redeem code. my friends are got the code but idk why i don't received. i know the promotion redeem code from who played demo forza horizon 4.

 

When you make a purchase on microsoftstore.com (not the Xbox Store) you should have an option to add a promo code during checkout.

 

Okay, I figured it out. I couldn't use the promo code from the Xbox store and I couldn't use it in the download section of the MS Store. I had to purchase a download code from the non-download section of the store. Once I got to a shopping cart style
checkout there was a place to enter a promo code.

 

you have to goto the ms store and enter the code after you queue a game or a console or accessory

You do not redeem it on the xbox.com or your console

 

There is no download section in ms store

Ms store is the physical and online storefront for disks consoles etc

Xbox.com is the storefront for digital content
