How to recover my account when the number is wrong

I am very sorry for the problem you are going through, with the intention of being able to help you I did an internal search in Microsoft support and I found a publication where they mention how to change the phone number registered in the Microsoft account and I thought it was good information, which you should consider:

Steps to do it with a mobile:

Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft (https://account.live.com/names/Manage)">https://account.live.com/names/Manage) and sign in to your account.

Select Add Email or Add Phone Number and we'll take you through the process of checking your contact details and adding it to your account.

To make the new email or phone number the primary alias, select Make Primary.

You will then have the option to remove the old email address or phone number from your account.

Note: To ensure that users can't search for you in Microsoft Teams (free) by your old email or phone number, you'll need to remove it from your account. Remember that you can't remove a primary alias without having another phone number or email in your account, so you must add the new alias before removing the old one.

To ensure that your changes are reflected in Microsoft Teams (free) on your mobile device, uninstall the app and reinstall it from the Google Play Store (https://aka.ms/androidteams) or iOS App Store (https:// aka.ms/iosteams).

Once the app is reinstalled, sign in to Microsoft Teams (free) with your new email or phone number.

Hello ! So basically I have the same problem and I’m trying to recover my old account and the number in my old account is wrong so basically I pressed the button (I don’t have any of these) and I tried to answer all the questions, but my device is blocked and I cannot login into my old account, but the problem that my email with this old account is working but say there is no option that I can recover my password from the mail that I’m using it on my old account so yeah basically I want to recover my old account but I cannot because the number there I s wrong and I really need to recover my account and again my email which is the old account. Like I’m trying to recover my old Microsoft account on my email, but there is no recover button or like a reset the password from the mail

I'm in the same boat with this person. I know my password and number but they keep saying my password is wrong and the number they want me to use have been long lost. There has to be another way to recover your account.

How do I go about recovering my account with the recovery email? I still know the email and password to the account, it just makes me verify the phone number when I sign in.

i recovered my account but it still askes for a passcode

when i put in the original passcode it says it's wrong
