How to recover an inactive 5 year old account?

I don't have access to the old account. That's the whole reason I was waiting the 5 years for it to expire, but 7 years later it's still not available to claim even though the old account clearly shows 7 years of inactivity.

I am afraid the account cannot be recovered since after 365 days of inactivity, your email will be deleted and cannot be recovered, and after 2 years of inactivity, your Microsoft account will be deleted and cannot be recovered.

how long have you not signed into your abox account as they changed it from 5 years to 2 years for deletion of inactive accounts.

so I had a old xbox account that was attached to my moms work email and microsoft has stopped accepting work emails for account and when I try to sign into it it says the account doesn’t exist so I was wondering if microsoft has deleted the account or if there is a way to get it back

How old are we talking? When was the last time you logged in?

I ask because if you don't login to your xbox profile for 2 years or login to your associated Microsoft account for 5 years then they do delete it for inactivity.

If the account was already deleted then its too late to try and recover it

Try to re-create the old Microsoft Account which was deleted years ago due to inactivity. The 5 year rule might not yet be applicable to your older account when you created it. Good luck dude!
