how to re download the C:\XboxGames. file on my pc, how to I put it back

Have you looked in the recycle bin if the XboxGames folder isn't there?

If it's not there, I'm sorry to say, but it's notably difficult to recover it. You can try a third-party application to recover these files, but some of the recovered files are corrupted and not working properly.

Anyway, when opening the games, or installing them again, they will create the folder again.

Thanks but the game used to load fine for me when it installed to C:\XboxGames but now that it installs to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps it hangs at launch 🤔

Edit: so for some reason today I can install games to C:\XboxGames and Star Wars now launches without issue. Nothing changed at my end, perhaps Microsoft made a change at their end?

Try to create another folder on the Program Files directory. Like C:\Program Files\XboxGames. Just make sure it's inside Program Files.

That's odd. Let's try other steps instead.

Go to your C drive directory. Make sure to show your hidden files. Look for the (.gamingroot) file. If you can see that, copy & paste it to D drive (don't put it inside a folder). Then on D drive create a folder named "XboxGames". Once done, restart your PC and try installing a game to D drive.

I download Townscaper on my main HDD and still had this same issue. I ran the troubleshoot for Windows apps and it couldn't identify the problem.

I noticed when I chose the location for the game Townscaper. That it created a new location named C:\XboxGames in my main HDD. However when I click on the file it was empty. The game was actually C:\Program Files\WindowsApps, but I never chose that location. Could this be the issue?
