    Hi guys I hope you’re fine

    I just wanted to ask how to properly turn off my console and is unplugging it necessary?

    My console is on energy saving mode

    I simply turn off the console by the controller

    And wait for the fan to stop running

    Then i flick off the power button from my electric extension board

    Is this method safe?

    Yes. As long as you shut it down correctly, and wait for it to go through the shutdown procedure as you are doing there should be no problem at al :)

    Hey a Tricky,

    Quick question, are you using a play and charge kit?

    If using one and it is still connected to the controller it will keep running until the controller is charged (that doesn't explain unglugging the Ethernet however)

    Hello Kal052, this depends on how you want to turn off your Xbox, if you use the control shutdown where you press the X button for a few seconds and the shutdown options menu appears, it will always stay in Stand yb, you will be able to make updates with it turned off etc.

    If you want a complete shutdown, you'll have to go through the Xbox menu.

    Yes,it's properly turned off that way.Just wait a few minutes if you are unplugging it as the console syncs your profile etc. to the cloud servers each time you turn your console off.
