    External hard drive was missing so i bought another one now it wont play games says it needs update

    got new hard drive now wont play . i got 360 missing the extrenal hard drive and bought one now how do i update with no internet

    How do I play from hard drive after the update?

    Just start the game. You don't have to choose a "play from hard drive option". Once a game is installed it will automatically play from the hard drive no matter how you start it.

    Just as a test, try playing a game that does not require a hard drive and that you have not installed to the hard drive. Now unplug the hard drive from the console, be sure it is OFF when you do this. Now turn the console ON and insert a game, not
    Black Ops or Halo as they need a hard drive to play, and see if it runs normally when you play it or if it lags. If it runs normally then the issue lies with your hard drive. One thing to check is how much space you have left on the hard drive. If it still
    lags even without the hard drive attached then I am out of suggestions.

    How do you choose play from hard drive?!

    You've never need to pick the play from hard drive option for it to play from the hard drive. Once installed it has always automatically played from the hard drive no matter how you started the game.

    Keep in mind though that with the new disc format being used the discs will spin for longer to authorise the game.

    How to fix this problem i to take out my hard drive then turn my xbox on and download the update on A flash drive. Then turned off 360 put back hard drive. Next play Halo4 online :)
