    How to pass the damn 2FA before the login code expires on Xbox?


    Hi,

    I am loosing my mind trying to login on my Xbox Series X. The consoles displays a code and a QRcode. I have to:

    1) access the page via the QRcode

    2) put the console code in the text field

    3) login to my MS account via 2FA

    4) the console should be logged in

    The freaking crazy thing is that the login code displayed by the console expires BEFORE I can finish the 2FA via the Microsoft Authenticator app. I tried to log into my account on my phone before I read the QRcode to save a few seconds but it’s not enough. Only’thing that worked once was to completely reset my Xbox. Which is obviously not a viable solution for day to day use.

    I am currently locked out of my console and cannot do anything about it. The « assistant robot » doesn’t understand any of my questions, there is no phone number available in France and the contact page doesn’t offer any alternative.

    What can I dontonsolve that issue please?

    This is obviously unacceptable and in my opinion ridiculous for a company like Microsoft. You guys are messing with so many things lately, that security/login issue but also other very concerning stuff such as forcing AI and adds onto people who BOUGHT Windows 11. Damn now I understand why people flee MS to use Sony and Apple products.

    Well for one 2fa is not an factor with the form as it is part of the reset proccess

    Not login

    .also they are looking for the OG info on the account Stuff only thr account holder should know and no they can't tell you what you are getting wrong

    It does not matter how much you spent on an account if you arent passing verification info about the account no-one can hand you the account

    This is set.in the privacy laws

    2fa only affects logins not if you pass account recovery

    @Pass that stuff, the code would have shown up on your 360. How it works is the code would have to be activated on an Xbox One before July 31st for it to work, and it seems to be tied to the same gamertag used on the Xbox 360 the promo appeared on. Also,

    I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulties.

    Can i ask, are you able to delete the profile from the console? I had a similar issue, I removed and resetup my profile which then allowed me to use the app password.

    Thanks for your help.

    Instead of deleting the profile, I disabled 2FA temporarily on the MS website. Then I was able to login on my Xbox One with my profile again. After logging in I disabled the auto login function on my Xbox, logged out my profile, enabled 2FA again via MS
    website and restarted the Xbox. Then I was asked for my password AND for the 2FA code!

    Afterwards I reenabled auto login on my Xbox One X. Now it works.
