Try this, hopefully it will work for you.

1. Open the Settings app.
   
2. Go to the System group of settings.
   
3. Select the Display tab.
   
4. Scroll to the bottom, and click Graphics settings.
   
5. On the Graphics Settings window, open the ‘Choose an app to set preference‘ dropdown.
   
   • If you have the Java version of Minecraft, select Desktop app.
     
   • If you have the Bedrock version of the app, select Microsoft Store app.
     
6. Open the ‘Select App’ dropdown (for UWP apps), or click the Browse button (for Classic apps).
   
7. Select Minecraft and click Add.
   
8. Once Minecraft has been added, select it, and click Options.
   
9. A new window will open within the Settings app with three different options that you can select. Select High Performance.
   
10. Click Save.
    
11. If you have Minecraft open, close it and then open it again. When you run the game, it will now use the dedicated GPU instead of the on-board graphics card.

I would back this up. These types of problem usually occurs when you have two GPUs and a laptop, one is used for wordprocessing and web browsing, and the other is used for gaming. My guess would be that it is not properly detecting the secondary GPU, and the standard one does not have features that the game needs to run. Please check, assuming you have Nvidia, in the Nvidia control panel and make sure that it is set to use the dedicated graphics card

Is this the Bedrock edition of Minecraft you're trying to play, or is this the Java edition? Those would be different solutions to get the controller to work.

I'm understanding your setup is a PC with Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver, an Xbox 360 controller, and Minecraft. The controller is working for other titles on the PC, but not so in Minecraft, correct? I am GUESSING that it's the Java version, because
