How to lock down account

I have an Microsoft Account that I use for O365.

My nephew has created a gamertag against this MS Account for my son and he's been using this on an Xbox One, but, it's quite open from a security perspective and I want to restrict content and purchases (especially). We have an Xbox Xseries and I'm looking
to tie this gammertag ID down, but, not lose what he's done.

Issue as I see it is that I cannot move the gamertag (based on forum research) to another MS Account. I have created another email account and this has been added as a family member to my MS Account, which I have set to my sons appropriate age and locked
down purchases. Question I have is how do I associate his gammertag with this email? If I can do that then, if I'm understanding how this works, then that should mean I could add an adult gammertag (if I so wished). His ID would be locked down and mine
free to administer and purchase as I like - with the ultimate game pass.

Is my understanding:

A) Correct?

B) If so how do I achieve what I'd like to do?

If you wanted to have an adult gamer tag you would just need to start another microsoft account as you have assigned your sons to yours and every gamer tag requires and email to sign in and most games will not let you play without signing in. I'm unaware
of any special exception. Due to the fact that you do have a child on your account I believe it would be in your best interest to separate the two even if it allows you to link them. In the case that your kid is able to gain access into the adult account and
run rampid through the store with the purchasing of the V bucks and what not.

To recover an account that you no longer have access to, there's only the procedure of filling out the recovery form. I'll provide you with the link to the support page that provides information about it.

Personally, as you'll find among the various pieces of information, I recommend entering all the data you remember. Also, even if the first recovery attempt is unsuccessful, you can try filling it out multiple times.

i also have had that happen but they changed my email and password to theirs any ideas?

Change your password for the email address that is associated with yoru gamertag.
