How to give a user a cash balance on Xbox One

I seem not to see an option of giving a user a cash balance on Xbox One. When I navigate to my subscriptions I get an offer to purchase Gold membership and an option of adding a credit card only. how do I now give a user a cash balance?

I have a Gamestop in town, but I've never heard of a 'Power Up' card... is it an American thing? But meh, I don't see how this would work, short of using the card to purchase MS points, and using those on the marketplace. Alternatively, if you're concerned
with providing credit card info, use paypal, prepaid, or buy MS points cards in store.

 

You can no longer add money to an account with a credit card/Paypal like you could with points. You would have to purchase an Xbox gift card from a retailer.

 

Keep in mind though, that if you're trying to use that cash to purchase gold, it will not work. You can only use credit cards/Paypal to purchase a gold subscription.
