How to get your microsoft credit back on your banking account?

I recently preordered the digital version of Red dead redemption 2 on the microsoft store, but as there was no way to directly pay with ideal, i bought giftcards first. Now I decided that I would rather buy a physical copy so I cancelled the order. Is there
any way I can get the credit back to my banking account? I've been a loyal customer who's having a hard time without a credit card, and it really would sadden me if I can't get the money back because I could not buy it through ideal. I can contact support
again by monday and I reallly hope that there is a solution before that, is there any employee that can help me?

if you followed a link sent to your email chances are you got scammed and I would suggest calling yoru credit card company. If you logged in manually and renewed then you should call MS Support and have the transaction record ready on both the Microsoft
Account website and your Online Banking. If MS wont fix it then simply call your credit card company and cancel the transaction.

I am most definitely correct, I know how banking institutions work. These are temporary authorization charges. If you used a debit card of course they are gone from your account because it's a debit card, any money attempted to be charged is immediately
removed. It's not immediately returned. Things are different with a credit card because it's not hooked to your immediate available balance, a debit card is attached to your bank account (checking account).

This works the same way with any company not just Microsoft. It's dependent on your banking institution to when these charges return to you within 72 hours for most US banks, and some say within the next billing cycle. It works like this all around the world,
the US was my example.

Reply back within your next billing cycle (1 month) if they haven't returned. Try to stop using your debit card for purchases like this if you don't like to see temporary authorization charges and try to purchase prepaid Microsoft point cards or use a credit
card.

 

You can ask for a refund.

For refund you can first try the auto function in Sign in to your Microsoft account if doesnt get, you will need to contact the official Xbox Support. They are the only ones that can determine if a refund is possible or not.

Once you redeem a prepaid gift card, there is no way to have the funds refunded back onto a bank account.

 

This is pretty much the case with every type of gift card or service funds. It only serves to obtain free goods or services from a given provider and have no monetary value.
