How to get Xbox account back with only my gamer tag? I forgot the email to the account.

It is not possible to recover an account only with Gamertag, since it is public information. There are some means to recover such as phone number added to the account or security email;

Each gamer tag is tied to a unique email address. If you're seeing a different gamer tag then you didn't sign back into your Xbox with the correct/original email address for your account.

To get your stuff back, you need to find that original email address.

Maybe I’m not explaining this right.

I restarted my console this morning when I signed back in I didn’t read things correctly and used my email and password to sign in and then started with a new gamer tag with the same email as my old gamer tag.

Now when I sign in it’s my new gamer tag that pops up. I tried deleting the new tag off my console and resigning in but again the new gamer tag pops up.

There is no option to look for tags associated with the same email???

All my purchased games and game pass is associated with my old gamer tag. How do I get my old gamer tag back with this email and onto my console???

You had to have used a different email for the new account. Its simply not possible to have two accounts under the same exact email.

If you tried it would say the account already exists

If you know the gamer tag for the account you can contact Xbox Support and give them the gamer tag and then they will try and send out a security/verification code to the phone and/or email on the account.

If you get that code, that will help Xbox Support unlock the account info on their screen to help them see the sign in email address of the account.

If you don't get that code you're going to be stuck.

You'll see a new gamer tag like that when you sign in with a new account. Since you stated that there are no games or gamer score, that's another indication that you've signed in with the wrong sign in email address that's not associated with the Neo gamer
tag.

You can contact Xbox Support and give them your gamer tag and they will send out a security/verification code to the phone/email you have setup on your account. Without that code, they won't be able to see your account info.
