How to get shortcut to MS Solitaire Collection on desktop?

I have just reinstalled my parents computer with Windows 10. I'd like for them to have a shortcut on the desktop to the Microsoft Solitaire Collection, one of the few games the regarly play. However... Microsoft, in their infinite search to make life a living update-hell, have blocked this or something? MS Solitaire Collection was installed fromthe MS Store. When I press Windows-button and type 'sol', it shows Microsoft Solitaire Collection _app_. Left clicking it opens a menu with the following options (they are in Dutch, so maybe I'm translating them incorrectly):

Unpin from Start

Pin to taskbar

App settings

Review

Share

Uninstall

There is NO option "pin to desktop" or "create shortcut". After pinning the app the the taskbar, and leftclicking that icon, I have the following options:

Microsoft Solitaire Collection

Unpin from taskbar

If I try to drag 'n drop the Microsoft Solitaire Collection from either the startmenu or the taskbar, the same menu is showing, but nothing happens.

I have tried to find the executable myself, so I can manually create a shortcut, but this is very difficult; de MicrosoftApps-folder is difficult to access, and even if I manage it, it seems this is more a Microsoft Store-cache folder than a folder where I can directly link to executables.

My question therefore is: How can I create a link to Microsoft Solitaire Collection on the desktop of a recently installed (and completely updated) Windows 10 machine?

And just for my curiosity: Why do my parents need an IT-specialist to install Microsoft Solitaire Collection and create a shortcut?! Why is installing such a simple Microsoft game, on a computer running MICROSOFT Windows 10 a job for a technician?!

Found it.

Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, made it impossible to copy or move a shortcut you've found while searching. When you press Windows button and type 'solitaire', you cannot copy or move the found link; it only works with the link in the start menu. WHY?! Why can't I simply make a shortcut to a found program? Why can I only copy the Solitaire link to the desktop, if I have already found the correct link in the very bloated mess we call the Start Menu nowadays?

So there might be a glitch going on, because all you have to do is drag and drop.

If you are running the latest version of Windows 10, simply find the Program shortcut in the Program Menu or the Tile in the Tile area, left click and drag that to your desktop.

You should see it turn into a "Link", release the left mouse button and that should do it.

Restart your PC and try again if that does't work.

Any help doing this on Windows 11? I've ben working in the computer field for 35 years and I have wasted 2 hours trying to get the solitaire shortcut on the desktop for my mothers computer that I am setting up. Very very big boo to Microsoft for making this simple task so difficult.

I have been playing the Solitaire Collection for a long time - sometimes on my desktop, sometimes on my Surface. Whatever challenges I completed on one showed up on the other. Since I upgraded to Windows 10 on my desktop and got the new Solitaire Collection
there, that is no longer the case. If I do something on my Surface, it will show up on my desktop. But if I do it on the desktop, the Surface doesn't know about it.

Have you tried to create a shortcut for the games on the desktop and try to launch it from there?

On the Xbox App > Right click on the game > Create a desktop shortcut.
